Mr O’Leary’s sixth class walked down to the Arthur Guinness Exhibit, in the Ardclough Village Centre on the 2nd December 2019.
Inside there were many billboards with lots of facts about Arthur Guinness and the history of Ardclough. There is a full room about Arthur Guinness telling you where he is from and why he is famous. If you don’t know who Arthur Guinness is, and can’t make it to the Ardclough Village Centre, Arthur Guinness is the man who first brewed the famous drink Guinness. He is buried nearby at Oughterard graveyard.
There are also lots of screens with information about other buildings in the area such as Castletown House, The 13th Lock and the Lyons Estate.
The AVC (Ardclough Village Centre) is situated in the old Ardclough school close to the triangle where we started our school days.
