This year, we did a nine week Cycling Safety course on Wednesdays. Two girls named Ruth and Caoimhe came in and taught us this.
During the nine weeks, we learned:
- which brakes are which
- how to make an emergency stop
- how to look over our shoulder
- how to make right and left hand turns
- to keep a bike space behind the bike in front of you
- about cycling safely on the road by watching a video in class
- how to pull out of a minor road
We spent a lot of time cycling on the school yard and on the final day, we got to cycle on the road. It was great fun and we learned lots. We hope to do it again. Here are some pictures of us cycling in the school yard and also on the road:
