This June,  some children in 4th class proudly earned their pen licences, a reflection of their hard work all year and neat cursive handwriting!  Also, 4th class have done a great job with their violin lessons all year with Maria. They've shown real effort in learning new songs and performed with growing confidence. I’m proud of their progress and how well they worked together as a class. Enjoy your Summer break :)  

May was full of sunshine and smiles in 4th Class! We’ve been making great progress in the garden—our tomato plants are growing nicely, and the class has really enjoyed looking after them and watching them grow! One of the highlights of the month was taking part in St. Anne’s Annual Sponsored Walk. We had a beautiful day for it, strolling along the canal and enjoying some treats from Cliff at Lyons—a big thank you to everyone who supported the event!

April was a wonderful month full of activity, learning, and celebration in 4th Class! We kicked off the month by marking National Tree Week. Our class was delighted to get involved in a special project on the school grounds—planting new trees! April also brought with it the Easter holidays, and before the break, we gave our wonderful secretary Nora a lovely send-off as she begins her next chapter of reitirement.

March was a busy and exciting month for our 4th class students! We kicked things off with delicious pancakes before the children made  all their Lenten promises. On March 14th, we celebrated Lá Glass, a special day filled with Irish pride! All the boys and girls dressed in green and performed An Haka Gaelach for our school ceolchoirm. Also a big congratulations to all our wonderful students who participated in Scór na bPáistí 2025!

A Fun-Filled February in St. Anne’s. This February we have been focused on creativity as part of the nationwide Arts Council Creative February initiative. This means that in school we engaged in lots of creative activities! Check out our fantastic Junk Art pieces!

This December, 4th class have been very busy taking part in all their school Christmas activities. On Christmas jumper day, the children had a great time at the magician show. This week the class finished their Happy Maths programme, big congratulations to all the winners! Yesterday, 4th class also got the oppertunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills at our class Christmas fair. This November 4th Class has really enjoyed taking part in their tag rugby lessons with the rugby player JP! 4th class has also been busy participating in the Happy Maths program with the inventor! Happy Maths raises awareness about Maths Anxiety and how digital game-based learning can mitigate its negative effect. This October 4th class have been busy creating spooky prints using lino and marbling inks. Inspired by the artist Edvard Munch we also created our own version of the painting 'The Scream'. Our 4th class creative arts committee also helped organise the whole school Halloween Art Competition. Well done to everyone who took part! On dress up day, we had lots of treats and fun painting pumpkins 🎃
