Our ‘Build a Boat that Floats’ Task!

We recently undertook the task of designing and building a boat that supports weight and also floats on water! We worked in groups to create a boat using a range of materials. We used tinfoil, plastic straws, lollipop sticks and masking tape. A big part of this challenge was to create a model that would support weight as well as being economical to build as each material had a cost factor. We created a range of boats and tested them! Our Trip to Dáil Éireann and The National Museum of Ireland.

In January, we visited Dáil Éireann and The National Museum of Ireland. We got the bus into Dublin city. We were given a tour of Dáil Éireann and saw the Seanad and the Dáil chamber.   We then had a picnic before heading into the National Museum. We visited the Viking Experience exhibition and took part in a Viking themed trail. We also watched a short video on the history of the Vikings.   It was a great day!
