Welcome back to everyone from midterm break!
As you know we had a dress up day for Hallowe’en- see our gallery section for wonderful and scary sights!
We also had a Hallowe’en treasure hunt for junior infants, organised by two girls in 5th class. Children worked with their buddies and followed the trail, answering questions and collecting items. It was fun for all. (photos on site)
I was delighted to see our Junior INfants perform so well at their Halloween class concert- you were wonderful!
Well done to all our sports teams who performed so well in the past weeks. We are delighted that you represent us so well!
Our talent show heats are heating up! Well done to all who have taken part- such a variety of acts from juggling to singing, from dancing to recitations and so on. The finalists will be announced next week. I am grateful to the 6th class team and the 3rd class team who have undertaken the organisation of this.
The Artist of the Month is back! Thanks to all in 6th class organising this. The prizewinners pictures are on display at the front entrance (junior classes) and at the top of the stairs near room 9 (senior classes) The photos of presentations are on our site. Well done to all the winners
Other children are coming up with great ideas for our school. Watch out for the following:

Sport Updates
Jason Coffey, our Hurling coach, has taken up another position and will not be working with us in St Anne’s going forward. I would like to express my thanks to Jason who brought so much knowledge and skill to the children and also so much enjoyment and fun. He will be missed! We look forward to having a new coach soon- we will keep you posted on this!

Violin:
Our classes with Maria Mason continue this week for classes 2nd to 5th. A gentle reminder to all to send in subscription at your convenience- we need everyone’s contribution to ensure that we can run the programme

Swimming:
Classes continue for 4th and 5th classes on MOndays

Clubs
6th class Clubs continue on Wednesdays at lunch time. Lego Club Well done to all who are attending Ms Malone’s Lego Club- amazing constructions are being created there (see website for photos)

Poet in Residence:
We are delighted to welcome poet, Lucinda Jacob, who will be working with 5th class for a number of weeks. I know it will be an enjoyable experience for all. We look forward to seeing the fruits of their work! Lucinda is a published poet and brings much talent and experience to all in 5th. |
Date for the Diary
Parent Teacher meetings for classes 1st-6th will be on Nov 21st and 22nd. There is no need to contact teachers on this yet- we will send out times in due course

Choir
3rd classes are busy at choir practice and will be going to the Peace Proms in the new year We hope they will have some chances to sing for us before the end of term too |
Parents Survey
We have sent out a survey on Gaeilge to parents of some classes with a view to getting information on teaching and learning Irish and it place in our society Children will also be given opportunities to give their views . This will form part of our school self-evaluation programme for the coming year- more on this to come! |
