NEWSLETTER JAN 25TH 2021

Good morning everyone.

What a beautiful morning, bright sunshine and blue skies.

I hope you are all keeping well.

I am delighted to see continued work on SeeSaw across the classes. Well done to you all. It is important that we keep up this work and it will really stand to you when we come back to school. Of course if it puts any pressure on families do let us know and we will do our best to support you.

We are awaiting confirmation from DES and Government re date for return to school building and I will keep you posted on that.

Thanks to everyone in 4th class who took part in our online class meeting- we will be contacting other classes about this too. It was lovely to see you all.

I want to let you know that this is Catholic Schools week. The  theme for CSW 2021 is Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith and Resilience

This particular theme will be especially relevant given the pandemic experience that is effecting the entire country. The following will be the daily themes for CSW 2021:
(1) Monday: Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith.
(2) Tuesday: Catholic Schools: Communities of Learning
(3) Wednesday: Catholic Schools: Communities of Love
(4) Thursday: Catholic Schools: Communities of Resilience
(5) Friday: Catholic Schools: Communities of Hope

I have put the prayer from Bishop Nulty and his video message on our website for you to look at in your own time and teachers will be sending out some resources for you to look at.

Reading Challenge:

Thanks to you all for the lovely photos you sent this week of your favourite books and places to read. I love to think of you all exploring different worlds through books and even though we can’t meet others, you can meet so many people through the books you read. PLease keep this up!

I have  arranged some of the photos in the hall in school (not all yet).

You can look at the powerpoint and see photos of those who contacted me on this. Readers in st Anne’s

So on to this week’s challenge. There is so much beauty and interesting things all around us. This week I want you to

Look/See like an Artist and do the SLIP Challenge (SLIP is Shapes, Lines and Interesting Patterns) . Of course we could add C for colours too.

Here is one I found in my local park…..I loved the squiggly lines on the roots of the tree.

If you can find any unusual lines, shapes, patterns or colour around you, please send me in a photo of these (to the office email please) and we will arrange a nice collage of all in the hall.

As always if you have any queries or comments please do get in touch with us by email.

Finally a reminder that our enrolment for Junior Infants 2021 is now open and if you haven’t already sent in an application form, please do so.

I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you soon,

Warm regards,

Ms Manley
