Kilmainham Gaol

We arrived at the school as normal at 9.00 am. When we got to the classroom we were told that the bus would be there at 10.00.. The journey was quick, and we arrived outside of the Gaol at around 11 o'clock. We waited outside the Gaol for around 10 minutes and then we went inside.

Trip to Dublinia.
Adding to our study of the Vikings, 6th class went on tour to Dublinia. We stepped back in time into Medieval Dublin, learning about the Vikings and Anglo-Normans. We saw ships, tools and clothing, experienced the sights and sounds of the streets at the time, and even tried out some costumes and games!

Local History
During September and October, we researched a chosen aspect of our local community. Given the brief that pupils could research a local event or landmark in depth, or else look the history of an area of the community through a more broad lens, this is what some of the children came up with.

Printing in Art Class
Over the last few weeks, Ms O'Connor's 6th Class have been experimenting with printing techniques to create wonderful pictures! We used paint, printing ink, brayers, brushes, and a variety of other materials (from bin bags to toilet roll inserts) to create abstract and representational art.
