We really enjoy playing maths games to help our understanding of different concepts, especially with fractions and decimals. We have been learning about equivalent fractions using a fraction wall and we also explored tenths and hundredths and how to convert fractions and decimals using different games.

Science Week

We love science in 4th class and we enjoy finding out how things work. Have a look at some of the activities we got involved in for science week, including balloon rockets, building tinfoil boats, enjoying STEM activities and exploring the effects of sugary drinks on eggshells. We couldnt believe the results of that one!

Lego We Do Race

October 2021 In October, we began to work with Chromebooks and Lego We Do.  After going through a few lessons, Mr O’Leary gave us a challenge. He wanted us in our groups to design and create a vehicle capable of taking part in a race. There were several tutorials available to help us and we all tried to create the vehicle which would give us the best chance of winning. Picking Potatoes!

October 2021 In May when we were in fifth class with Mr Roughan, we planted some potatoes in the school garden. Although Mr Roughan has now left the school, we felt we should make sure that these potatoes didn’t go to waste and so in October, Kathy got a spade and we went digging!
